MASGD is currently the only organization led by and for Trans Muslims. In the last two years MASGD has been led by Black, Palestinian, and Iranian leaders to continue our legacy in supporting the most marginalized of the most marginalized queer and trans racialized Muslims. 

Queer and Trans Muslims are currently targeted across all of our identities. MASGD is the only org working at these intersections and specifically supporting queer and trans folks most impacted by the various genocides ravaging our world while building infrastructure for us to dismantle the systems that led us here in the first place. 

The Last Two Years

In the last two years MASGD has supported a community care ecosystem that has redistributed over $750,000 to QT folks most impacted by genocide, supported distribution of over 1 million dollars to other orgs through grant writing support and infrastructure building, held over 300 community spaces and trainings both virtual and in person, held a 9 month long fellowship for front line organizers that distributed $50,000 to the community, and operated Inara—the only QT Muslim helpline. 

The Time to Build infrastructure is NOW

In the next two years, in the leadup to the 2028 elections, MASGD is committed to continuing to support our communities’ infrastructure for community care, skill building, and organizing to build a liberated world. 

Leading into 2026 we will be running our Organizing to a Living Utopia training series, followed by multiple intensive series as well as our ongoing spiritual and community building programming. Through our partnership with Takaful Incubation hub we will support various groups in launching and building a broader network of community partners to drive this work forward. 

Our Community Needs Care Work right now

We will continue being a part of the collective of funds to support QT folks most impacted by genocide, work that unfortunately no one else is doing. Our communities’ needs are increasing with every new genocide. Our community's needs are increasing even in the Global North as trans people are targeted more and more daily. This infrastructure is needed right now.
