Help JCAN-MA add an urgent and visionary Jewish voice to the climate crisis
JCAN was started in December of 2013 by Rabbi Katy Allen and Elie Gerzon who saw the need for a Jewish voice in response to the climate crisis. They wanted to bring together Jewish leaders and activists to explore resilience, solutions, and community response.
Since then, we've held four Jewish Climate Action Conferences that have attracted hundreds of people to focus on ways communities can act to reduce carbon, do advocacy, and develop spiritual resilience, while raising up the voices of youth and addressing environmental justice. JCAN-MA puts on about 30-50 educational webinars and programs each year, free and accessible to all.
At the same time, less than 10% of the synagogues in Massachusetts have solar panels. In the US, only about 2% of all houses of worship have solar panels.
Jewish Climate Action Network seeks to:
- Sound out an urgent and visionary Jewish voice on the crisis of climate change.
- Build relationships with environmental and justice leaders in Jewish and other communal organizations.
- Inspire and mobilize Jewish communities to take leadership and participate in bold climate campaigns
- Develop and provide informational resources to allies working on climate change action
We believe that helping congregations and individuals to decarbonize and advocate for laws, regulation, and funding that combat climate change and related environmental harms will help us reach climate solutions.
But we can't do this work alone. We need your help. By joining us in this campaign, you'll be part of something bigger than yourself—a movement for positive change and social impact.
Your donation will make a real difference in promoting our webinars and programs. In exchange, you will be able to attend our webinars and programs knowing you are making this work happen.
Together, we can help congregations and individuals learn how to decarbonize and advocate for a zero-carbon future. Join us today and be a catalyst for change. Together, we can build a brighter future for all.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
