Why It Matters

For over ten years, Girls On Fire Leaders has worked hand-in-hand with women and girls in Kenya to ignite lasting change. We’ve learned that when a girl rises, her community rises with her — and when her mother has income, support, and belonging, that rise becomes unstoppable.

What works isn’t charity.
It’s connection. It’s creating safe spaces where mothers and daughters learn side by side — building confidence, mindset, and leadership that endure when life gets hard.

This December, we’re returning to Turkana, one of the most remote regions in Kenya, for our next Community Camp. Together with local leaders, mothers, and girls, we’re expanding what began as a spark into something powerful: a cycle of education, empowerment, and economic opportunity

transforms entire villages.

Our Goal: $12,000

Your contribution will directly support this year’s five community-led projects:

🌿 Papaya Farm — Planting 100 trees that will provide income for mothers and vital nutrition for babies.

📿 Beads of Hope — Expanding the beadwork cooperative that funds girls’ education and mothers’ livelihoods.

🕊️ Honoring Our Elders — Delivering care, food, and companionship to homebound elders.

🚲 Wheels of Change — Purchasing four bicycles to give mothers back 21 hours each week and break cultural barriers.

🔥 Community Celebration — Hosting an end of camp community meal and graduation celebration that brings the entire village together — girls, mothers, elders, and local leaders — to share stories, blessings, and joy.

Why Now

We’ve seen what happens when women and girls are given the tools and trust to lead. Confidence grows. Schools thrive. Families eat. Communities heal.

This camp isn’t just a week of programming. It’s a turning point — a moment when 50 girls, 30 mothers, and their entire community come together to shape a different future.

We need to raise $12,000 to make it happen. Every dollar helps us reach more mothers, more girls, and more communities ready to lead.
