Help bring this progressive mystery/thriller to life!
"When a suspicious death shakes an exclusive Miami
retirement home, a holistic bodyworker finds herself caught up in
a web of
lies involving
secret assassins, international conspiracies, and her own
immigrant family."
Starring and executive produced by Rosario Dawson,
written by Yvan Iturriaga and Josh Healey of Offsides Productions, THE
BODY REMEMBERS is a mystery/thriller that will keep audiences on the
edge of their seats -- and inspire them to join the fight against
fascism and xenophobia across the U.S.
Bridging the worlds of our current American authoritarianism
with the notorious dictatorship of Augosto Pinochet in Chile, our film
addresses some of the most pressing issues and themes of our times, including:
Resisting Fascism
Despotic rulers. Kidnapping students off the street.
Living under constant fear. This isn’t just Chile under Pinochet.
For many of us in the U.S., this is right here, right now. The
Body Remembers shows how two generations creatively fight
back against repressive governments.
Justice & Healing
The film explores what accountability looks like for these
violent assaults and crimes against humanity. With a female healer
in the lead, The Body Remembers asks: How do we heal both
as individual survivors and as a society at large?
Immigration Beyond the Border
While the mainstream debate rarely looks at why people leave
their homelands, The Body Remembers shows how
U.S.-sponsored coups and military interventions in countries like
Chile have decimated human rights and democracy, forcing millions
of people to flee.
NOW IS THE MOMENT
Our communities are aching for stories that can meet the moment,
show the roots and reality of what we’re up against, and inspire us
to take action for change. This is one of those stories. This is the
time to make it happen.
Since 2020, Offsides Productions has created bold, cinematic content that is politically urgent, wildly entertaining, and sparks the radical imagination for social change.
