Black Impact Houston (BIH)  is built on a simple truth: when Black-led organizations have what they need to grow, the communities they serve grow too.

We are an alliance of Black-led nonprofits across Greater Houston working together to build collective power, strengthen capacity, and ensure our communities are resourced now—not someday.

What makes BIH different is that our members don’t just participate—they lead. Through a shared governance model rooted in sociocracy, members shape our priorities, programming, and decisions. Every voice is heard, and everything we build reflects what our community actually needs.

We convene monthly working sessions where leaders move beyond isolation into strategy, connection, and shared problem-solving. We provide skill-building workshops designed by members—focused on real needs like fundraising, leadership, and organizational growth. And we cultivate a culture of trust and collaboration, where organizations share resources, build partnerships, and move together—not in competition.

Our collective fundraising model reflects that same commitment. Through our annual Giving Day, we raise funds together and redistribute the majority directly to member organizations, ensuring immediate, tangible impact across the ecosystem.

BIH is more than a network—it’s a movement to strengthen Black-led organizations, shift how resources flow, and build a more equitable future for Black communities in Houston.
