The evidence is clear: time in nature improves children's health, concentration, mood, and healing. At InDiGO, we put that evidence into action, guiding youth and adults to discover nature as our greatest teacher and classroom. We also remember what science confirms: we are not separate from nature. The water in our bodies, the air we share with trees, the sunlight that builds our bones remind us that nature is not somewhere we go. It is what we are.

In Baltimore and beyond, we lead field trips, design outdoor classrooms, and ignite integrative learning in schools. We unite youth from different backgrounds at summer camps, and we work alongside teachers, city agencies, outdoor centers, and community groups to expand daily access to green space across neighborhoods, so every child can learn, play, and heal outdoors.

This work just reached a milestone: Baltimore City Council passed InDiGO's Children's Outdoor Bill of Rights as a formal resolution, affirming every child's right to breathe fresh air, access safe green spaces, and splash in clean water.
