The Plastics & Climate Project has filled a need that no other organization has - we have surveyed the existing scientific literature regarding the climate impacts of plastics, analyzed what it tells us, identified the data gaps, and recommended how to fill them in and to account for all the impacts.

Now we telling the important story of the links between plastics and climate change, and the fact that the climate impacts are undercounted.

We need support for communicating our findings and recommendations to scientists, policymakers,  advocates, industry, investors, and educators. We are pushing for the scientific community to undertake critical research and data generation to ultimately be able to determine plastics' actual contribution to global temperature rise. We are developing recommendations to incorporate plastics' climate impacts into climate models, accounting and reporting, and policies from the local to the international levels, including multilateral agreements.
