Hello Community!
Thanks to your support, The Gill Tract Farm Coalition has successfully upgraded our irrigation system in the Southern half of our field. Now, half of our farm has an updated irrigation system with pressure-compensated lines and a solar-powered controller that can withstand wears and tears for many years to come. We couldn't have done it without you, our community of fellow farmers, students, elders, and new and longtime farmrads. It truly does take a village, and we're so blessed to be in community with you all!
With our new irrigation system, we have noticed a massive improvement in our yield. Our crops are a lot happier, producing more and better quality harvests, using less water and power more efficiently, and enables our volunteers and staff to have more capacity to tend other areas of the field.
Now, our farm is ready to take on the next step of our irrigation upgrade: to update the irrigation on the latter half of our farm.
We need your support! We are raising $20,000 to upgrade the irrigation system on the northern half of our field.
With this new irrigation system, we will be able to grow tens of
thousands of pounds of sustainably farmed produce and feed thousands
of Bay Area residents for low to no-cost, educate volunteer farmers
and students on best practices for farm irrigation installation, and
conserve water and energy transitioning to a solar powered and water
efficient irrigation system.
