Please join us in honoring Elizabeth Lacy Norman, a beloved member of the Action Corps community for nearly 20 years, dating back to our time as part of Oxfam. She served as an organizer with our Oxfam Action Corps NYC team and later as a national peer advisor, leading with kindness and integrity. Elizabeth was part of the team that helped Action Corps become an independent organization and joined our founding board in early 2019, where she served until her passing on March 9, 2026.
Just a couple of examples of Elizabeth’s compassion and solidarity:
Several years ago, Elizabeth participated in the Anne Braden Anti-Racist Training Program through her volunteer work with Action Corps. She encouraged us to speak up even when we weren't sure what to say and modeled how to make our community more inclusive.
On August 15, 2021, at an Action Corps leadership retreat following the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, Elizabeth shared a heart-wrenching story from a colleague there. She invited us to join her in holding signs of solidarity with the people of Afghanistan so she could send a photo to her colleague and remind her she was not alone. That kind of solidarity is what Action Corps is all about.
These funds will help Action Corps further our mission and support organizing and advocacy for U.S. foreign policy change in solidarity with people around the world.

How do I get a receipt for my donation?
You should automatically receive a receipt by email for an online donation. For recurring donations you should receive your receipt in January for the preceding calendar year. If you would like to receive an acknowledgement of a check donation, please email national@actioncorps.org.
