Join us for Bloom in the Dark, a queer/trans Jewish shabbat and song circle, that is a fundraiser for Let My People Sing! in collaboration with Queer Song Community. This event is open to non jewish folks and straight allies. Come eat and sing with us around a backyard fire! We (Ele, Leo, Tal and Ziv) look forward to holding a song and ritual space that will include some pre and post socializing. We hold the question, will there still be blooming in these dark times?
Where : Exact location will be emailed after registration. The gathering will take place in a backyard in the East Bay (near the border of El Ceritto & Richmond)
When : Friday May 8th 6pm
Tickets : $18-44 NOTAFLOF ~ we are raising money for Let My People Sing! and appreciate anything you can offer, no matter how small or big, and please come sing even if you have nothing to give right now! (link to event page with tickets)
What to bring : We will be in a backyard around the fire, so wear layers. Bring your water bottles and tea thermos! Please bring a dish to share if you feel called, we will be socializing and eating in the beginning, and snacking throughout the evening. There will be floor seating and chair seating, AND if you are able to bring your own camping chair please do.
Accessibility : The venue is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. It is a 15 min walk or 4 min drive from the El Ceritto Norte BART station. The house has a bathroom and kitchen that we can use, and there are 3 cats and 1 small dog inside. Please let us know if you can’t bring your own chair and need one saved for you!
כּוֹסִי רְוָיָֽהKosi R’vayaKosi R’vaya can be translated as “my cup overflows” or “my cup is fully saturated.” R’vaya is an invocation of the truly remarkable abundance we have in our community, the abundance that will keep LMPS resourced and growing for many years to come. All the money raised during R’vaya will go towards expanding LMPS programs, offering more retreats, online and in-person classes, as well as making our offerings more accessible via financial aid. | ![]() |
Help fill our collective cup!
Join us a R'vaya Resource Mobilizer! Our Resource Drive will be held over the Jewish month of Iyar , from April 19-May 17th. During this time, we are inviting our community to sign up as R’vaya Resource Mobilizers to make loving asks of your own networks - your friends, family, co-workers, classmates, co-organizers, peers at Synagogue, etc.! We have completed our first ever five-year strategic plan and need our community's help in order to:
- Nourishthree timesas many people by 2030 through larger and more frequent in-person offerings
- Strengthen song culture indozens of existing Jewish communitiesacross the country
- Expand themainstream canon of Jewish songto include more Jewish lineages and new music
About Let My People Sing!
Let My People Sing! (LMPS) cultivates Jewish communal singing as a liberatory practice. We offer immersive retreats, online classes and in-person workshops where participants are held in Jewish wisdom, spiritual connection, and embodied Jewish practice that spans denominations and lineages. Since 2015, LMPS has become a spiritual and cultural home for people who both feel alienated in mainstream Jewish spaces, namely queer and trans Jews, Jews of Color, Mizrahi and Sephardi Jews, disabled Jews, and poor and working class Jews, and those who may not hold those identities, but crave being in more vibrant and life-affirming Jewish community. We envision a future in which all Jews can access communal singing, woven from the widest tapestry of Jewish voices, as a resource for individual, interpersonal, and collective healing.
