Help Public Powered Policy Put the Public Back in Public Policy
Public Powered Policy exists because government decisions are better when the people most affected by them have a say.
Too often, government policy is shaped by people who already know how the system works: lawyers, lobbyists, trade associations, and well-resourced organizations. But ordinary people also have expertise. They know what it feels like when a rule fails, when a system excludes them, or when a government decision changes their daily lives.
Public comments can matter. In a recent federal rulemaking on accessible medical diagnostic equipment, people with disabilities told the Department of Justice what inaccessible equipment meant in real life: missed exams, unsafe transfers, inaccessible weight scales, delayed care, and humiliating experiences in medical settings. Those stories helped show why the rule was needed and why technical requirements on paper matter in real people’s lives.
PPP is being built to make that kind of participation more possible. We want to help people understand proposed rules, tell their stories clearly, and submit comments that agencies can actually use.
Your donation will help us build the tools, outreach, training, and support needed to bring more public voices into federal policymaking.
Help Public Powered Policy put the public back in public policy.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
