Girls On Fire Leaders hasn't added a story.

Why It Matters

For more than a decade, Girls On Fire Leaders has been transforming the trajectory of girls’ lives in Kenya through education, mentorship, and leadership development.
Our mission is simple yet powerful: to ensure that every girl can complete school, gain confidence, and lead change in her own community.

In regions where only 10–30% of girls make it to secondary school, 90% of Girls On Fire participants graduate.
Through a five-year program of leadership camps and monthly workshops, girls build the mindset, skills, and community support needed to stay in school and succeed long after.

Our Approach

We create spaces where girls and mothers learn side by side — because when both generations rise, entire communities shift.

  • Leadership Camps (4x per year) – immersive experiences focused on self-leadership, confidence, and community problem-solving.

  • Monthly Mentorship Circles – ongoing connection and guidance between girls, alumni mentors, and local women leaders.

  • Alumni Leadership Track – graduates return as mentors, facilitators, and project leaders, modeling what’s possible for the next generation.

  • Community Projects – girls design and implement service initiatives that uplift their schools, elders, and neighborhoods.

This sustained engagement creates a ripple effect: girls own their stories, mentor others, and gain opportunities to lead with purpose and courage.

How to Help

Every contribution helps us sustain a movement where girls rise, mentor others, and lead with impact.

💫 $25 – Provides essential school and hygiene supplies for one girl
🎓 $50 – Covers leadership training materials and meals for one girl at camp
💛 $150 – Sponsors a mother–daughter pair to attend a community leadership camp
🌿 $250 – Funds monthly mentorship and workshops for one girl for three months
🔥 $500 – Supports one girl for a full year of mentorship, workshops, and leadership development
🌍 $1,200 – Sponsors one girl for a full year of secondary school — including tuition, books, uniforms, and basic necessities

Our 2026 Goal

We have $48,000 left to close our annual budget gap — funding that will allow us to:

  • Triple our impact by reaching three times as many girls,

  • Expand programming to two additional regions, and

  • Sustain our five-year leadership pathway for girls and mothers in Turkana.

Your support today ensures that more girls stay in school, gain confidence, and step forward as leaders shaping Kenya’s future.

Why Now

This year has tested us — and reminded us why our work matters more than ever.
Across Kenya, funding for girls’ education and leadership programs has fallen sharply. Large development agencies, including USAID, have scaled back or withdrawn, leaving communities with fewer resources and girls with fewer opportunities to stay in school.

But while systems waver, we show up.

Through drought, school closures, and shrinking budgets, our mentors, teachers, and local leaders have kept the fire burning — hosting camps, running monthly workshops, and checking in on girls one by one. We’ve seen mothers trade beadwork for school fees, girls organize food drives for elders, and alumni step into leadership when others stepped away.

This is what resilience looks like.
Not waiting for help — but creating it together.

As we look ahead to 2026, we’re deepening the only sustainable path:
one rooted in community women's leadership and self-reliance.

Our goal is to triple our impact, reaching three times as many girls and expanding to two new regions — proving that even in hard times, progress is possible when women and girls lead.

Your support bridges the gap left by disappearing aid and fuels a movement built to last.
Because when resources fade, it’s courage, creativity, and community that keep the flame alive — and we’re not stopping now.

Let's make it happen!

Grateful for you.
