Picture a small family farm where the soil teems with life, pollinators thrive, and every practice works with nature instead of against it. That's a typical Certified Naturally Grown farm. 

Started 25 years ago, Certified Naturally Grown (CNG) is a farmer-led nonprofit that certifies and supports growers and beekeepers committed to ecological practices–across the U.S. For many small-scale food producers, the cost of certification is a major barrier, so we cover dues for those who need it most.  But certification is just the start. We also train CNG growers in sustainable farming and business practices, to strengthen both their farms and their local food systems. And we equip consumers with guides on food labels and the benefits of local food, so they can find and support farmers doing this work

Without an alternative certification system like CNG, the organic movement risks being dominated by large agribusiness, leaving behind the small farmers who are its foundation.
