Our oceans, rivers, and waterways are still filling with plastic and trash faster than they can be cleaned. Every cleanup helps, but each one takes real planning, supplies, and staff to make it happen safely and effectively.

Since 2010, United By Blue has organized cleanups that have removed over 5.4 million pounds of trash from rivers, creeks, coastlines, and wild places. In 2024, we launched our nonprofit arm, Waves of Change Foundation, so we could fund even more cleanups without relying only on product sales.

Blue Friday is our commitment to push this work further: for 24 hours, we close the store and focus on raising $10,000 to fully fund 2 community cleanups in 2026. Product revenue alone can’t cover everything it takes to bring 100+ volunteers together, supply them, and haul thousands of pieces of trash out of local waterways.
