JOC "Rise to Resilience" Women's Retreat

Join us for a joyful, restorative weekend gathering of Jewish Women of Color. Nestled in the serene mountains of Escondido, in the northern suburbs of San Diego, this is an invitation to gather for Avodah and Tefilah, Torah study, rest, healing, singing, dancing, laughter, conversations, yard crats (yup, bring your crochet and knitting projects) and the celebration of our diverse Jewish narratives. It is a weekend for us to simply BE in the midst of nature, in Jewish community and the presence of HaShem.

Playing Together Project (PTP), the organizer of this retreat, is a Jewish nonprofit based in San Diego that has, since 2022, focused on centering and celebrating Jews of Color within Jewish community. PTP realizes that JoC commonly have exclusionary experiences in Jewish settings and experience a questioning of their Jewish identity, and a lack of belonging, inclusion and equity. If you live in San Diego, you are welcome to be a part of its activities. (Soon we are launching a monthl affinity space for conversation, sharing, storytelling, activity, and of course, some food.)
